Seguramente has escuchado muchas veces la frase “las cejas son el marco de la cara”, y déjame decirte que es verdad. Cuando tienes las cejas desordenadas, demasiado pobladas, muy finas o simplemente “chuecas” la expresión de tu cara se puede ver algo…RARA. La buena noticia es que existen muchas métodos y “trucos” para hacer de todas las cejas algo espectacular. Y uno de los favoritos últimamente es el Brow Lamination.

¿Ubicas cuando en Facebook la gente ponía en el estado de su relación “COMPLICADA”? Bueno, pues así definiría yo la relación con mis cejas. Por herencia (gracias papi) tengo cejas abundantes, peeeero… muy lacias y, por lo tanto, son necias, se bajan y no se quedan en su lugar, lo que suele dar un aspecto de tristeza a mi rostro. Además, tengo una especie de remolino en mi ceja izquierda que crea un hueco que se ve raro.

En fin, he tratado diferentes cosas para arreglar (más bien, domar) mis cejas: lápices, geles, ceras, micropigmentación (en casi todas sus versiones)… y la verdad es que, aunque han servido de algo, no me han dejado del todo conforme. Hasta que encontré esta técnica que me ha encantado porque me ayuda a mantener la forma de mis cejas y a domarlas (literalmente!) con el look en tendencia.

En los últimos años una de las tendencias más fuertes en cuanto a cejas son las feathery brows o cejas plumosas. Éstas son cejas estilo Cara Delevingne, es decir, despeinadas, levantadas, tupidas y, hay que decirlo, CHIC. Claro, no todas hemos sido bendecidas con tener cejas geniales por nacimiento.

Por suerte existe un tratamiento que te ayuda a conseguir esas feathery brows y que te duren así aproximadamente un mes, es el Brow lamination o laminado de cejas. Se trata de un proceso parecido a cuando se hace un permanente en el cabello, es decir que con la ayuda de químicos se altera la estructura celular de la fibra capilar para poder moldearla a la forma que se desee.

El proceso consta de muchos pasos, pero en general no es tan tardado, a mi me toma máximo una hora incluyendo el tiempo de depilación.

1. El primer paso es depilar la ceja para quitar vellitos que estén fuera de lugar y darle la forma correcta a la ceja. Personalmente prefiero la depilación con hilo (el tema amerita post propio), pero puede ser con cera, pinza o lo que prefieras.
2. Ya que está lista la forma, se aplica un primer que ayuda a suavizar los pelitos. Una vez puesto se peina la ceja para darle la forma que queremos que tenga al final. A mi me gusta cepillar hacia arriba con un cepillito para lograr el efecto “feathery”
3. Ahora sigue el paso principal, se coloca el producto químico que altera la estructura de los vellitos. Lo suelen aplicar con un pincel de tal manera que la ceja quede bien cubierta con él. Después se vuelve a peinar la ceja en la forma deseada. Aquí es súper importante que quede bien peinada porque esta será la forma final y definitiva. Por último se cubren las cejas con film plástico transparente y se deja actuar el producto unos minutos. En el lugar donde me hago el tratamiento repiten este paso tres veces, dejando el producto un total de 15 minutos y cada 5 vuelven a peinar la ceja para que quede bien paradita.
4. Al terminar el tiempo se limpia el producto químico y se vuelve a aplicar el primer, que en este paso tiene la función de neutralizar el producto anterior para que los folículos del vello vuelvan a cerrar y ya se mantenga la forma definitiva.
5. Como último paso se pueden depilar de nuevo en caso de que algún pelito haya quedado fuera de lugar.

¡LISTO! Ahora es recomendable no mojar tus cejas por al menos 12 horas para que dure más el laminado. Después de este tiempo puedes maquillar tus cejas con el producto que quieras,aunque te puedo asegurar que ahorrarás mucho tiempo en dejarlas perfectas.

Surely you have heard many times that «the eyebrows are the frame of the face» , and let me tell you that it is true. When you have messy eyebrows, too bushy, too thin or just «crooked» the expression on your face can be seen something … RARE.

The good news is that there are many methods and «tricks» to make every eyebrow spectacular. And one of the favorites lately is Brow Lamination.
Do you remember in Facebook when people put the relationship status as «COMPLICATED»? Well, that’s how I would define the relationship with my eyebrows. By inheritance (thanks daddy) I have abundant eyebrows, BUUUT… super straight, therefore, they are stubborn, always go down and they do not stay in place, which usually gives me a sad loon. Also, I have a kind of swirl on my left eyebrow that creates a gap that looks very weird.

Anyway, I have tried different things to fix (if not tame) my eyebrows: pencils, gels, waxes, micropigmentation (in almost all its versions) … and the truth is that, although they have done some good, they haven’t really made me completely happy. Until I found this technique that I loved because it helps me maintain the shape of my eyebrows and tame them (literally!) while looking trendy too.

In recent years one of the strongest trends in terms of eyebrows are feathery brows. These are like Cara Delevingne brows, meaning wild, upward, bushy and, it must be said, CHIC brows.

Of course, not all of us have been blessed with having great eyebrows by birth.
Luckily there is a treatment that helps you get those feathery brows and they can last for about a month, it is the Brow lamination.

It is a similar process as when you get a perm on your hair. So, with the help of some chemicals the cellular structure of the hair fiber is altered in order to be able to mold it to the desired shape.
The process consists of many steps, but in general it is not that long. It takes me no more of one hour, including the waxing time.

• The first step is to pluck the eyebrow to remove hairs that are out of place and give the eyebrow the correct shape. Personally I prefer doing it with thread (this topic deserves its own post), but it can be with wax, tweezers or whatever you prefer.
• Once the shape is ready, a primer is applied to help soften the hairs. Once put on, the eyebrow is combed to give it the shape we want it to have at the end. I like mine to be brushed upwards with a spoolie to achieve the «feathery» effect.
• Now the main step, they put on the chemical product that alters the structure of the hairs . It’s usually applied with a tiny brush so the eyebrow is well covered with it. After that the eyebrow is combed again in the desired shape. It is super important that it is well combed because this will be the final and definitive shape. Finally, the brows are covered with plastic film and they let the product sit for a few minutes. Where I get the treatment they repeat this step three times, leaving the product for 15 minutes and every 5 minutes they comb again so it is properly standing.
• When time is over, they clean the chemical producto and apply the primer again. In this step it has the function of neutralizing the previous product so that the hair follicles close again and the final shape is maintained.
• As a last step, they can be plucked again in case any hair has been left out of place.
• 
  READY! Now it’s recommended not to wet your eyebrows for at least 12 hours so that the lamination lasts longer. After this time you can apply any product to them, although I can assure you that you will save a lot of time in leaving them looking perfect.
